The Lake Country RCMP and the Kelowna Police Dog Service teamed up to execute a search warrant on Chase Road on Wednesday, June 19.

While searching the property, located on the 4400 block of Chase Rd, Mounties recovered several mountain bikes, bike parts and a number of electric scooter batteries.

Two men were arrested for possession of the stolen property and have since been released pending further investigation.

The search stems from a lengthy investigation into people in possession of property obtained by crime in the Kelowna and Lake Country areas.

“Lake Country RCMP is dedicated to targeting property theft and holding those responsible accountable," said Cpl. Birtwistle, Lake Country RCMP Watch Commander, after the warrant was executed.

Cpl. Birtwistle also reminds the public to record their bike's serial numbers.

"This helps us immensely in returning stolen bikes to their rightful owners."

People are encouraged to use an online registry such as Project 529 to catalogue bikes and record the necessary information about their bikes.
