The Kelowna Rockets will pick fourth overall in the first round of the 2024 WHL Prospects Draft.

On Wednesday, Mar. 27, the WHL held the draft lottery to determine the draft order for the six teams in the WHL that didn’t make the playoffs. However, because of past trades, three current playoff teams will be picking in the top six in the upcoming draft.

The Rockets, who hold Regina’s first round selection, acquired it from the Seattle Thunderbirds in early 2023 in a trade that involved at the time team captain Colton Dach.

Since 2018, the Rockets have had just two first round selections - Trevor Wong 18th overall in 2018 and Andrew Cristall 8th overall in 2020.

The 2024 WHL Prospects Draft will be held Thursday, May 9.
