In Loving Memory ~

Shannon passed away peacefully at Kelowna General Hospital, after living with Stage IV Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC) for 5 1⁄2 years.

She leaves behind her husband of 22 years, Clayton, and her two shining stars, her children, Jackson (Jack) and Madeline (Maddy).

Shannon was predeceased by her father, Rod Eldridge. Also left to mourn her passing are her mother, Lynda, brother, Mike, the Gall family, countless dear friends, colleagues, cancer advocates, and the beloved family dog, Piper.

Shannon graduated from Summerland Secondary School and attended post-secondary studies at the University of British Columbia. While completing her Bachelor of Arts degree, Shannon joined Phillips, Hager & North Investment Management (PH&N) in 1994, where she met her future husband, Clayton.

After relocating to Toronto, she eventually became a partner at Burgundy Asset Management Ltd., working mainly with their private client group.

Shannon's tenure at PH&N and Burgundy left a mark on her and she has been involved with countless volunteer initiatives over the years including the Vancouver Family Court/Youth Justice Committee, the United Way, the Geneva Centre for Autism in Toronto, the Kelowna Art Gallery and many others. Shannon's passion for community, philanthropy, and genuine human connections was quite simply, incredible.

Shannon was a strong local and national advocate for raising awareness and funds for cancer research with the BC Cancer Foundation (as a member of the Board of Directors), Lung Cancer Canada, and the White Ribbon Project. Along with her husband Clayton, they raised over one million dollars in 2020 to help establish a province-wide lung cancer screening program and they have continued to raise awareness and donations for their very personal cause.

She knew firsthand how invaluable the Personalized Onco Genomics (POG) program at BC Cancer is, as this research extended Shannon's prognosis well beyond statistical averages, for which her family and friends are forever grateful.

Shannon was a dedicated mother, wife, friend, champion for the cancer cause, and a source of hope and positivity for patients facing lung cancer. Shannon loved planning (menus, gatherings, events, family vacations, and general shenanigans), hosting friends and family, and sharing a lot of laughs.

Shannon was a helper, generously lending support and wise words. She would light up the room and always elicit smiles, one of her many gifts was how she made you feel when you were in her company. Her sharp wit, sense of humour, and ability to make friends with literally anyone was truly unique.

Through all of this, Shannon remained a devoted, loving mother to her children. Jack and Maddy were always her top priority and she made sure they were loved and had the guidance to become kind, gentle, and compassionate young adults. She appreciated all the moments, knowing how precious time is, and was incredibly proud to be their mom.

She will be greatly missed.
