On Saturday, November 4, 2023 a referendum (assent voting) opportunity will be held within the District of Summerland on the following question:
Do you support the Corporation of the District of Summerland borrowing up to $50 million with interest, over a period not exceeding 30 years in order to finance the construction of a new recreation centre to be located at 8820 Jubilee Road E., by way of Loan Authorization Bylaw No. 2023-016?
Additionally, two (2) advanced voting days will be held within the District of Summerland:
Wednesday, October 25, 2023 -and- Tuesday, October 31, 2023
Scrutineers for and against the question must be appointed if applications are received from persons who wish to volunteer for the positions. Only persons entitled to vote as electors in this referendum (asset voting) opportunity are entitled to act as scrutineers.
If sufficient applications are received, one (1) scrutineer for and one (1) scrutineer against the question will be appointed for each voting place. One (1) scrutineer for the question and one (1) scrutineer against the question will also be appointed to be present at the determination of the official results and, if necessary, at a judicial recount.
Applications to act as a scrutineer will be received by the Chief Election Officer at the office of the:

during the period:
8:15 a.m., Tuesday, October 10, 2023 TO 4:00 p.m., Thursday, October 19, 2023
Applications will only be received during regular office days and hours during this period.
